For the benefit of Chris Daniels, I can say that the 1946 musical "Blue Skies" is currently available on DVD in the USA as one half of a Bing Crosby double feature DVD. The other film on the disc is "Birth of the Blues" (1941). There are,in fact, three other Bing double feature DVDs in this series from Universal. They are, as follows
Holiday Inn/Going My Way
Rhythm On The Range/Rhythm On The River
A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court/ The Emperor Waltz.
If you're a Crosby fan, all are worth getting. Although the version of "Holiday Inn" does not begin to compare with Universal's U.K. version
( produced by Ken Barnes of Laureate ).
The picture and audio quality of "Blue Skies" is outstandingly good and it's great to see Bing and Fred Astaire in Technicolor ( although "Holiday Inn" is still the better of the two films they made together.

You can also get on Region 1 DVD in America ''Pennies From Heaven'' which has a very good transfer. |
