To Ken
I know many people have asked already, but could you please look at releasing more Fred Astaire titles (RKO's and more MGM's for instance).
Fred is woefully under represented on DVD. I loved your issue of Second Chorus at last a decent print, a good sounding soundtrack! (It's a pity that the out-take for "Me And the Ghost Upstairs" that exists couldn't be included)
Thanks for your hard work (and thanks for those wonderful 70's Fred albums)

Hello Richard,
Thank you so much for getting in touch. I'm happy to say that we've had numerous letters of praise for our Astaire titles and, of course, it was very kind of Ava to contribute to the DVD versions.
I can tell you that we've been trying for some time to obtain access to the Fred & Ginger RKO titles. Alas, so far, we've had no luck. We are, however, talking with Columbia-Tristar about various films - and it was they, not us, who mentioned the two items with Rita Hayworth " You'll Never Get Rich" and "You Were Never Lovelier."
We have all sorts of plans for 2002 and within the next month or so, we'll be making announcements in the news section on our website.
Your interest and support are much appreciated.
Here's wishing you a Happy New Year.
Best wishes
Ken Barnes |
