Two suggestions of films for the Laureate treatment.
1. Clouzot's ' Wages Of Fear' - I think this is possibly public domain, because there are a number of versions out there. I own two of them and both are unwatchable because of the bad transfer. I know there is a ‘Criterion Collection’ of this film, but even that doesn't get very good reviews for its quality.
2. 'Can Can' - the Frank Sinatra, Shirley Maclean film, which I don't think has yet had a DVD release. |

Thanks for the suggestions. You're right - "Wages of Fear" is PD, but finding a decent print is a problem. However, I'll try to pursue this.
I will mention "Cac Can" to Fox as a likely title in their new series of Marquee Musicals. |
