Congratulations on the Road pictures box set. The moving menus, the production notes and the extras are all tops.
My big problem was finding it in the shops. The cover design is so obscure that I passed over it several times before I actually figured out what it was. And bear in mind, I WAS LOOKING FOR IT with the full intention to buy.

God knows if it will ever catch the eye of the casual buyer.
The other three box sets - Fred and Ginger, Cary Grant and The Marx Brothers - are easy to spot because the star names stand out. But the lettering on the Road box is small and
virtually obscure. Who makes these decisions ?

I couldn't agree more with J. Miles re. the Road box design.
It's very confusing and has no impact whatever. This is a pity because the contents are great and the overall production terrific.

It must have been designed by a moron.

Messrs Miles and Patmore are absolutely right - the design of the new ROADS box is really duff. You can hardly read the star's names and while the four shots of Bing and Bob are good, the message is virtually lost by the small type face and clumsy design. The discs, however, are beautifully produced and I've never seen these films look or sound better. If only the design complimented the contents.

I must say that of the four new boxed sets, the ROAD package is the most criticised. The remaining three have all had the thumbs up.

We, at Laureate, do not hold any sway over what Universal's marketing department decide. \but it's interesting to get feedback from the people who matter - ie the consumers.

Thanks
Ken
