Yes, I know that it's not a Laureate release and therefore perhaps not relevant to the site, but I really do recommend the delicious new set of Cole Porter musicals released on Region 1 DVD. Although I've not watched them all yet, it's great to have so many classic films released at once: High Society, Silk Stockings, Kiss Me Kate, Les Girls and The Broadway Melody of 1940.

It would be nice to see more musicals released in the UK, though. At least Gigi, Calamity Jane, American in Paris and High Society are about to appear!

I'm looking forward to more Laureate goodies - they're unbeatable!

Hi Domenic,

I haven't yet had a chance to get around to the Cole Porter
Classic Musicals Collection. But I'm in the USA next week and will obtain a copy then.

The good news - apart from having "High Society" on DVD, is that at last Warners are releasing some of their Fred Astaire movies - and not before time. Let's hope they get around to "The Band Wagon" soon.

Good news too that some of these are making it to Pal Region 2,

I'll have some news for you soon on our future plans.
