Thanks for calling attention to these release,Neil. A veritable Aladdin's Cave for horror fans. It's strange that no company has yet released the 1958 Hammer version of "Dracula" which, in my opinion, is still the finest version of that oft-told tale. |

There is a box with the big 3 - Dracula/Curse of Frankenstein/Mummy - though the Dracula print is the US one entitled Horror of Dracula.
I agree - it is a wonderful film.
The box was released a couple of years ago under the title Hammer Horror originals.
Whilst on Hammer, Optimum have a 21 film set out on 23rd October featuring some later Hammer titles, all out on region 1 previously but many firsts for region 2:
ONE MILLION YEARS BC
PLAGUE OF THE ZOMBIES (wonderful)
QUATERMASS AND THE PIT (fantastic)
RASPUTIN, THE MAD MONK
REPTILE (excellent)
DRACULA, PRINCE OF DARKNESS
FRANKENSTEIN CREATED WOMAN
HORROR OF FRANKENSTEIN
SCARS OF DRACULA (attrocious)
SHE
TO THE DEVIL A DAUGHTER
VENGEANCE OF SHE
WITCHES (Joan Fontaine)
BLOOD FROM THE MUMMIES TOMB
DEMONS OF THE MIND
FEAR IN THE NIGHT
SLAVE GIRLS
THE NANNY (Bette Davis)
THE DEVIL RIDES OUT (outstanding)
THE VIKING QUEEN
STRAIGHT ON TIL MORNING
a veritable mixture of the good, the bad and the ugly there!
and
CURSE OF THE MUMMY'S TOMB is due for release from Sony Pictures on 23rd October, the first Hammer release from Sony/Columbia in some time and the second of Hammer's four mummy outings.
Finally - non horror - Odeon Entertainment have confirmed that their forthcoming biographical dvd
Alma Cogan - Her Unforgettable Story
will include two rare and highly-sought after mid-1950s Hammer half-hour shorts as extras - the Cogan starring Eric Winstone's Stagecoach and The Eric Winstone Show Band. |

Actually the 19th Sept dates may be wrong. I was in London yesterday and I saw the Chaney Jr Inner Sanctum set in the Cinema Store. When I got home, I saw PlayUSA had posted my copies of Inner Sanctum and the first Karloff out. |
