As shoddy as it is, I can understand Universal's attitude to the second Astaire-Rogers box. They feel that if the first box was such a hit, why spend any money on the second one ?
These executive decisions have been taken by people who don't give a damn about the product nor do they understand the needs of the DVD collector. What makes this situation so pathetic is the fact that a lesser company Network ( Granada Ventures ) can give us an outstanding Special Edition 2-disc DVD of that classic '60s thriller "The Iprcress File"
with extras galore including exclusive interviews with Michael Caine and art director, Ken Adam plus documentaries, a separate CD of the John Barry score and even a copy of the original novel by Len Deighton.
Doesn't this make Universal look like miserable cheapskates ? Yes.
Do they care ? No. |
