Do you think it's likely that 'Mame' with Lucille Ball would be released on DVD as finding even a vido is nigh impossible. I think it's a lovely film with that leaves you feeling god, but my video copy has expired and is a poor copy anyway.

I have seen this film a couple of times. It has some very good bits in it, like the 'Let's have a Little Christmas' number. Robert Preston is always wonderful in musicals. It's a shame he didn't make a few more.
What the film badly needs, in my opinion, is an editing job. After an encouraging start it struggles and is probably at least 30 minutes too long.
The film was panned by the critics at the time of release, mostly because Lucille Ball was photographed through, what was referred to as, 'a paper towel'. But it's a fun movie and a good way to spend a couple of hours on a rainy Sunday afternoon.
